Welcome to Gold Buckle Kennel. We raise AKC boxers and show APHA horses and from time to time we have a few horses
for sale. The ranch is located in Hemet CA, very near the beautiful Temecula wine country.
I bought my first boxer in 1983 her name was Meagan, a fawn and white female, she did not have many champions
in her pedigree nor did she come from a show breeder (she came from a backyard breeder) but she was the best dog and hooked
me on Boxers! I had never even owned a purebred dog before Meagan. I then purchased Spud (for my son
Dean) Spud was a dark brindle huge male. We had our first litter of Boxer puppies in 1985 and that is
how I started breeding Boxers. Purchasing Meagan was one of the best things I have done in my life besides
my family and of course our dogs are part of our family. And of course we kept a puppy from that first litter,
her name was Dozzer. We had a few litters then spayed both females and took a break for a few years, Meagan passed away
at 8 yr old from complications from an inhaled foxtail (after 2 yrs, 3 surgerys, 6 months on meds, 2 trips to UC Davis
and $5,000 in vet bills, so watch those foxtails), this broke my heart but I did purchase another boxer a all white, mostly
deaf female "Hailey" (who was never bred and spayed) she was champion sired, from health tested parents and had cancer
by the age of 4. But I do still beleive in health testing and I still beleive in breeding the best bloodlines possible.
What I don't beleive in is line breeding over and over which is what I have seen on some pedigrees including Hailey's.
I do beleive that sometimes line breeding works but we do very little line breeding. These are just my opinion's based
on my personally experinces.
We currently stand AKC Boxer Kiss my Maximus. Check our puppy page for available puppies.
